I've been blacksmithing for 28 years and never had any interest in knives beyond wishing I had one when I needed one. Likewise, I've never had any interest in cooking beyond trying to avoid hunger.

Funny how things change. In trying to be more helpful around the house, I'm discovering a slowly emerging passion for cooking. As a result, I finally made myself a functional kitchen knife and have come to realize that a hand forged knife is superior to one that is not hand forged. There are too many reasons to list, but it will suffice to say that it makes me want to cook.

February is a wonderful month to dream of new ideas and then wonder how on earth to proceed. One thought that keeps coming back is how can I help more people use beautiful functional knives to cook the food they love.
