I'm not at all sure what we are doing on this planet right now. We seem intent on creating technology that will eventually replace our usefulness on earth. I guess we'll either see how that turns out or we'll choose to take a more active role in determining how we spend our time. I am certain of one thing: I love blacksmithing. It provides me with all the satisfaction I require from my work. Over the last years, I have been riding the gravy train that is the American economy by forging anniversary bowls with little love notes stamped into the steel. The current trade dispute in North America presents a new opportunity for me. A chance to re-imagine what it means to make things with one's hands in 2026. We carry the wisdom of our ancestors. Building useful and beautiful things together is what we do. We can't afford not to.
